NEW YORK -- The U.S. Army will make an exception to a decades-old rule and allow a Sikh doctor to serve without removing his turban and cutting his hair, an advocacy group said Friday.

Capt. Kamaljeet Singh Kalsi is the first Sikh to be allowed to go on active duty with a turban, beard and unshorn hair in more than 20 years, according to the New York-based Sikh Coalition. more

No reinforcements sent to Waziristan militants: Ahmadi

Sunday, October 25, 2009
By Bureau report

PESHAWAR: Afghan Taliban Saturday denied reports that they had sent hundreds of fighters to South Waziristan where Pakistan’s security forces are engaged in a massive offensive against militants.

“The reports about sending 1,500 fighters to Waziristan to help Pakistani Taliban are totally false and baseless,” Afghan Taliban spokesman Qari Muhammad Yousaf Ahmadi told Afghan Islamic Press by telephone.

“This is our principle stance not to interfere in the affairs of any country. We strong reject these reports,” said the spokesman.

British Museum to discuss artifact loan with Iran

WashingtonTV

Updated: Friday, October 23, 2009
10:00GMT—6:00AM/EST

Washington, 23 October (WashingtonTV)—The British Museum will send a staffer to Iran to discuss details of the loan of an ancient artifact, after Tehran warned it would cease cultural and scientific cooperation with London, reports said on Thursday.

The artifact, the Cyrus Cylinder, was scheduled to be given to Iran on loan in September. However, the British Museum backed out of the agreement, citing the post-election unrest, according to Iran’s state-funded Press TV network.

The clay cylinder, dating back to the 6th century BC, is inscribed in Babylonian cuneiform, and has been described as the world’s earliest charter of human rights. more

UN Security Council condemns deadly Iran bombing

Washington, 21 October (WashingtonTV)—The United Nations Security Council on Tuesday condemned a suicide bombing in southeastern Iran, which killed at least 42 people.
The unanimously approved statement came in response to a letter by Iran’s UN ambassador, who had urged the 15-nation council to take a stand on Sunday’s attack.
“The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the deadly terrorist attacks,” said the statement, which was read out to reporters by Vietnamese Ambassador Le Luong Minh, current president of the council, according to Reuters. more
IT did not take long for them to condemn it. What about the atrocities that Iran is perpetuating against its own people. How long did it take for them to condemn the post election violence. Also I always thought that a terrorist attack is when you kill civilians. If the target is military then that is a legitimate target. Yes/no?

THE ROVING EYE

Fasten your seat belts; it's gonna be a bumpy ride. As a crucial subplot of the New Great Game in Eurasia, Balochistan - on both sides of the Iran-Pakistan border - promises turbulence aplenty. Welcome to United States General Stanley McChrystal's self-fulfillment prophecy - "Chaos-istan" in action.

There are few doubts the deadly (as many as 49 fatalities) suicide bombing on Sunday in Pishin, near Sarbaz, in the deserted, impoverished Iranian province of Sistan-Balochistan, was carried out by Pakistani Balochistan-based Jundallah ("Soldiers of God").
This is being billed by Iranian state-controlled media as the worst suicide bombing ever in the country. Key casualties include the number two of the armed forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), Brigadier Nour-Ali Shoushtari, a veteran of the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s, the provincial IRGC commander. more

As usual, the pathetic, desperate Rafidite regime blames the United States and the British. Yet, even the pakistianis! who is next to blame? Father Christmas? or even their cave dwelling saviour in Qom? Allah knows best, the reality is, it is an indipendant Sunni Iranian resistance, led by noble balochi Iranians, who are fighting for the rights of Sunni Iraniansaltoghether, be it the Baloch, Kurds or Persian Sunnis, although the unbelievers dislike it." more
